ABOUT US

Milwaukee Chamber Choir was founded in the autumn of 2013 to sing a concert celebrating the 100th birthday of Benjamin Britten. Since then, we have done a performance each spring and fall (except the dark pandemic times). The choir is comprised of 25 professional-level singers, all of whom volunteer their time and talents to the ensemble. Our mission is to perform standard choral classics, from the Renaissance through the 21st century.

For its first ten years, Milwaukee Chamber Choir was supported by our founding director, J. Mark Baker, his wife Susan Loris, and freewill offerings given at the door by our audience. Susan suddenly passed away in January of 2022, followed by J. Mark in April of 2023. The group loved singing with each other and decided to continue. It has held itself together with donations from members, friends, and patrons. We have performed two concerts each season and our next one is Sunday, April 27, 2025, 4 p.m., at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church on Milwaukee’s East Side.  

With the help of Foley and Lardner SC, we have successfully received our 501(c)(3) status from the IRS and State of Wisconsin designation as a charitable organization.
