ABOUT US
Milwaukee Chamber Choir was founded in the autumn of 2013 to sing a concert celebrating the 100th birthday of Benjamin Britten. Since then, we have done a performance each spring and fall (except the dark pandemic times). The choir is comprised of 25 professional-level singers, all of whom volunteer their time and talents to the ensemble. Our mission is to perform standard choral classics, from the Renaissance through the 21st century.
For its first ten years, Milwaukee Chamber Choir was supported by our founding director, J. Mark Baker, his wife Susan Loris, and freewill offerings given at the door by our audience. Susan suddenly passed away in January 2022, followed by J. Mark in April 2023. The group loved singing with each other and decided to continue. While continuing to perform their customary two concerts each season under the direction of three terrific guest directors, they also formally became a 501(c)(3) charitable organization in late 2024.

In June 2025, the Milwaukee Chamber Choir board announced the hiring of a new artistic director, Jeremiah Cawley. You may read more about Jeremiah below. ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
We’re delighted to announce that Jeremiah Cawley, a highly regarded choral clinician, adjudicator and conducting educator, has been named the next artistic director of Milwaukee Chamber Choir (MCC), effective immediately.​
“It is an honor to be named the new artistic director of Milwaukee Chamber Choir. I have been so impressed by the high quality of their performances and even more so by how much they love to sing together,” remarked Cawley. “I am excited and humbled to help in continuing to offer great choral music to the Milwaukee community.”
Milwaukee Chamber Choir will launch its 13th season in fall 2025.​
